9.2 Stackable Stages

The macroscopes are equipped with motorized cross-stages.

Stage surface:

160 mm x 220 mm

Glass stage plates:

80 mm x 80 mm

Travel range of the stage:

50 mm x 50 mm

On the stage surface, there are threaded bore holes as receptacles for the adjustable holder (universal holder), rotating stages ø 118 mm, bullet manipulators K2715A, large sample stages and rotating device for toolmark examinations.

For transmitted light, removable glass stage plates are also provided (Fig. 31).

Rotating stages ø 118 mm

Rotating stages, which can be stacked on the basic equipment cross-stages (Fig. 32), are fas- tened using two Allen screws. They are suitable for incident light and transmitted light examina- tions. The rotating stages each have one open- ing in the center, which is sealed with a remov- able glass plate (32.3). The threaded bore holes on the stage surfaces are provided for screwing on the adjustable holder. Additionally, there are also holes for inserting the stage clips. The ro- tating stage surface can be locked into place using a fastening screw (32.2).

In the bottom parts of the rotating stages, there are receptacles for inserting the polarizers (32.1) with λ-plates (red = OK). These can be rotated 90°.
