System Controls

Three controls are available here for customizing the MPX G2 Tuner settings: Cal, Offset and Bypass.

Cal Use this parameter to set the Tuner's "A" pitch. The factory setting is A=A. If you change this, for example, to A=G, you can tune your guitar down a whole step — but the open strings will still be displayed as E A D G B and E.

Note: If you change this setting, this will also be used for reference in the Diatonic Hmy effect.

Offset You can fine tune the Tuner's "A" pitch over a range of ±50 cents to match a recording or a non-A440 tuning reference.

Bypass The factory setting of this parameter is Mute which turns off the Send

and Main Outputs while you're tuningPost. Mute mutes only the Main Outputs — dry guitar is sent out the Send while the Tuner is active. All Bypass sends dry guitar out both the Send and Main Outputs while the Tuner is active.

The Global Effects modes provide quick and useful ways of changing the overall behavior of the G2 to fit specific applications. They allow you to choose to make the Speaker Simulator, Noise Gate, Reverb, and Master bypass functions universal or program specific.

In each case, setting the mode to Global lets the current settings override the individual settings stored with each program — a very handy feature if you want to turn the Speaker Simulator off for all programs because you’re playing through a guitar amp and speakers, or if you want to make the Noise Gate active to tame a 200watt amp cranked to 10.

When the Speaker Sim, Noise Gate, Reverb and Bypass modes are set to Program, each program will load with its own settings. To audition the programs as they were intended to be heard:

1.Connect the G2 for Stand Alone, Amp Input & Effects Loop or Amp Input Only application.

2.Set Speaker Sim, Noise Gate, Reverb and Bypass modes to Program.

3.Load and listen to the presets for the appropriate application (Amp Input & Effects Loop or Amp Input Only).
