Software Programming ChoicesWhenprogrammin g National Instruments DAQ hardware, you can use an
NIapplication developmentenvironment ( ADE) or other ADEs. In either
case,you useNI-DAQ.
NI-DAQ
NI-DAQ, which shipped with theAT E Series device, has anextensive
libraryof functions that you can call from the ADE. These fun ctions allow
you to use all the features of the AT E Series device.
NI-DAQcarries out many of the complex interactions, such as
programming interrupts, between the computer and the DAQhardware.
NI-DAQmaintains a consistent software interface among its different
versionsso that you can change platforms with minimal modifications to
thecode. Whether you are u sing LabVIEW,Measurement Studio, or other
ADEs,your application uses NI-DAQ, as illustrated in Figure 1-1.
