Optional Equipment
NIoffers a variety of products to use with the AT E Series device,
including cables, connector blocks, and other accessories, as follows:
•Cablesand cable assemblies, shielded and ribbon
•Connectorblocks, shielded and unshielded 50-, 68-, and 100-pi n screw
terminals
•RTSIbus cables
•SCXImodules and accessories for isolating, amplifying, exciting, and
multiplexingsignals for relays and analog output. With SCXI you can
condition and acquire up to 3,072 channels.
•Lowchannel count signal conditioning m odules, devices,and
accessories,i ncludingconditioning for strain gauges and RTDs,
simultaneous sampleand h old, and relays

Custom Cabling
NationalI nstrumentsoffers cablesand accessories for you to prototype
yourapplication or to use if you frequently chan ge device interconnections.
Ify ou wantto develop your own cable, however, the following guidelines
may be useful:
•Forthe AI signals, shielded twisted-pair wires for each AI pair yield
thebest results, assuming that you use differential inputs. Tie the shield
foreach signal pair to the ground reference at the source.
•Youshould route the analog lines separately from the digital lines.
•When usinga cable shield, use separate shields for the analog and
digital halvesof th ecab le. Failureto do so re sults in noise coupling
into the analog signals from transient digital signals.
Matingconnectors and a backshell kit for making custom 68-pin cables are
