Saving/Restoring Setting Values

Information set on the FC Switch Module can be saved or reset by using the configupload or configdownload command.

„To run commands saving the setting of the FC Switch Module, an FTP

server is required additionally. Prepare a proper FTP server before saving.

„The configupload and configdownload commands do not change the name and IP address of the FC Switch Module. After executing configdownload, change them by using respective commands.

„ Saving of settings on FC Switch Modules is required in system recovery including device replacement due to a system fault. If a new FC Switch Module is installed or some setting on an FC Switch Module is changed, save the settings on the FC Switch Module.

1.Transmit setting file to FTP server.

Using the "configupload" command allows a setting file to be transmitted to the FTP server.

2.Transmit setting file to FC Switch Module

Using the "configdownload" command allows a setting file to be transmitted to the FC Switch Module.

*** CAUTION ***

This command is used to download a backed-up configuration for a specific switch. If using a file from a different switch, this file's configuration settings will override any current switch settings. Downloading a configuration file, which was uploaded from a different type of switch, may cause this switch to fail. A switch reboot might be required for some parameter changes to take effect.
