When a phone call is

received

1When a call is received, the fax
machine will not ring at this time.
INCOMING CALL
LDuration depends on TEL/FAX
delayed ring setting.
2When the fax machine does not detect
a fax calling tone, it will ring 3 times.
LDuration depends on Silent fax
recognition ring setting.
LThe calling party will hear a different
ring back tone.
LIf you have recorded your own
TEL/FAX greeting message (page
58), it will be played to the calling
party (KX-FT78 only).
3Answer the call.
LIf the call is not answered, the fax
machine will activate the fax function
for a case in which the other partys
fax machine does not send a fax
calling tone.

Silent fax recognition ring setting

The fax machine generates audible rings to
indicate that it is receiving a phone call. The
number of rings generated depends on the
setting of feature #30 on page 73. This
signal will not ring on an extension
telephone.

When an extension

telephone is connected and

a fax call is received

the extension telephone will ring 2
times.
