Error Messages

Display

If the unit detects a problem, one or more of the following messages will appear on the display.

CALL SERVICE 2

LThere is something wrong with the unit. Contact our service personnel.

CHECK COVER

OUT OF PAPER

LThe cover is open. Close it.

LThe unit has run out of recording paper. Install a recording paper roll (page 21).

CHECK DOCUMENT

LThe document was not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the document. If misfeeding occurs frequently, clean the document feeder rollers (page 84) and try again.

LAttempted to transmit a document longer than 600 mm. Press {STOP} to remove the document. Divide the document into two or more sheets and try again.

CHECK MEMORY

LThe memory (telephone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been erased. Re- program.

DIRECTORY FULL

LThere is no space to store new entries in the directory. Erase unnecessary entries (page 30).

FAX IN MEMORY

LThe unit has a document in memory. See the other displayed message instructions to print out the document.

MEMORY FULL

LThere is no room left in memory to record a voice message. Erase unnecessary messages (page 63, 65).

NO RESPONSE

LThe other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again.

NO TAD GREETING

LYour TAD/FAX greeting message is not recorded. Record a message (page 58).

LThe voice guidance feature is set to off. Activate feature #47 on page 74. Pre- recorded greeting message will be adopted.

NO TRNS-GREET.

LYour transfer greeting message is not recorded. Record a message (page 67).

LThe voice guidance feature is set to off. Activate feature #47 on page 74. Pre- recorded greeting message will be adopted.

PAPER JAMMED

LA recording paper jam occurred. Clear the jammed paper (page 83).

POLLING ERROR

LThe other party’s fax machine does not provide the polling function. Check with the other party.

REDIAL TIME OUT

LThe other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again.

REMOVE DOCUMENT

LThe document is jammed. Remove the jammed document (page 82).
