Advanced Serial Settings Tab

Overview

Advanced serial port settings apply to all serial ports.

Field Descriptions

Configure the following parameters:

Process Break	Enables/disables proprietary inband SSH break signal processing, the Telnet
Signals	break signal, and the out-of-band break signals for TruePort.
	Default: Disabled

Flush Data Before When enabled, deletes any pending outbound data when a port is closed. Closing Serial Port Default: Disabled

Deny Multiple	Allows only one network connection at a time per a serial port. Application
Network	accessing a serial port device across a network with get a connection (socket)
Connections	refused until:
	z All data from previous connections on that serial port has drained
	z There are no other connections
	z Up to a 1 second interconnection poll timer has expired
	This also enables a per-connection TCP keepalive feature. After approximately
	3 minutes of network connection idle time, the connection will send a
	gratuitous ACK to the network peer, thus either ensuring the connection stays
	active OR causing a dropped connection condition to be recognized by all peer
	network connections.
	Applications using this feature need to be aware that there can be some
	considerable delay between a network disconnection and the port being
	available for the next connection attempt, allowing any data sent on prior
	connections to be transmitted out of the serial port. Application network retry
	logic needs to accommodate this feature.
	Default: Disabled
