Selecting a cross-over frequency
Youcan select a frequency, under which
soundsare reproduced through the subwoo-
fer.If the installed speakers include one whose
sizehas been set to Small, you can select a
frequency,under which sounds are repro-
ducedthrough a Large speaker or subwoofer.
1 TouchCross Over.
2 Touchaor bto select the speaker to
beadjusted.
Eachtime you touch aor bselects the speak-
erin the following order:
Front(front speakers)Center (center speak-
er)Rear(rear speakers)Subwoofer (sub-
woofer)
3 Touchcor dto select cross-over fre-
quency.
Eachtime you touch cor dselects cross-over

Note
Selectinga cross-over frequency is to set a cross-
overfrequency of the subwoofer s L.P.F.(low-pass
filter)and that of the Small speaker H.P.F.(high-
passfilter). The cross-over frequency setting has
noeffect if the subwoofer is set to Off and other
speakersare set to Large or Off.
Adjusting the speaker outputlevels using a test tone
Thisfunction allows you to easily get the over-
allbalance right among the speakers.
1 TouchTestTone.
2 TouchStart to start the test tone out-
put.
Thetest tone is outputted. It rotates from
speakerto speaker in the following sequence
atintervals of about two seconds. The current
settingsfor the speaker over which you hear
thetest tone are shown in the display.

Checkeach speaker output level. If no adjust-
mentsare needed, perform step 4 to stop the
testtone.
#Thesettings do not appear for speakers
whosesize is set to Off. (Refer to Setting the
speakersetting on page 87.)
3 Touchcor dto adjust the speaker out-
putlevel.
Eachtime you touch cor dit increases or de-
creasesthe equalizer level. +10 to 10 is dis-
playedas the level is increased or decreased.
#Thetest tone rotates to the next speaker after
abouttwo seconds from the last operation.
4 TouchStop to stop the test tone out-
put.

!Ifneeded, select speakers and adjust their ab-
soluteoutputlevels. (Refer to Adjusting the
speakeroutput levels on the previous page.)
!Toadjust the speaker output levels in this
modeis the same as making the speaker out-
putlevels at Speaker Level (speaker output
level).Both provide the same results.
Using the time alignment
Thetime alignment lets you adjust the dis-
tancebetween each speaker and the listening
position.
