sition,the speaker outputs are automatically set
forappropriate levels. You can tailor the levels
moreprecisely referring to Adjusting the speaker
outputlevels using a test tone or Adjusting the
speakeroutput levels.
Using balance adjustment
Youcan change the fader/balance setting so
thatit can provide the ideal listening environ-
mentin all occupied seats.
1 TouchFader/Balance on the DSP func-
tionmenu.
2 Touchaor bto adjust front/rear
speakerbalance.
Eachtime you touch aor bit moves the
front/rearspeaker balance towards the front or
therear.
Front:25to Rear:25 is displayed as the front/
rearspeaker balance moves from front to rear.
#FR:0/LR: 0 is the proper setting when only
twospeakers are used.
3 Touchcor dto adjust left/right speak-
erbalance.
Eachtime you touch cor dit moves the left/
rightspeaker balance towards the left or the
right.

Using the sound field control
TheSFC function creates the sensation of a
liveperformance.
!Theacoustics of different performance en-
vironmentsare not the same and depend
onthe extent and contour of space through
whichsound waves move and on how
soundsbounce off the stage, walls, floors
andceilings. At a live performance you
hearmusic in three stages: direct sound,
earlyreflections, and late reflections, or re-
verberations.Those factors are programed
intothe SFC circuitry to recreate the acous-
ticsof various performance settings.

channelDolby Digital audio and you select SFC
effectsthat are most applicable for 5.1-channel
audio(i.e., Musical,Drama or Action), we re-
commendturning Dolby Pro Logic II on. On the
otherhand, when selecting SFC effects that are
intendedfor use with 2-channel audio (i.e., Jazz,
