02Speaker Setup Guide (LX03BD)

Caution

These speaker terminals carry HAZARDOUS LIVE voltage. To prevent the risk of electric shock when connecting or disconnecting the speaker cables, disconnect the power cord before touching any uninsulated parts.

Do not connect any speakers other than those supplied to this system.

Do not connect the supplied speakers to any amplifier other than the one supplied with this system. Connection to any other amplifier may result in malfunction or fire.

After connecting the plugs, pull lightly on the cables to make sure that the ends of the cables are securely connected to the terminals. Poor connections can create noise and interruptions on the sound.

If the cable’s wires happen to be pushed out of the terminals, allowing the wires to come into contact with each other, it places an excessive additional load on the amp. This may cause the amp to stop functioning, and may even damage the amp.

Using your own speaker cables

When connecting the speakers, you can purchase and use your own speaker cables if desired, in place of those furnished. In this case, perform the following procedures to attach the speaker cable adaptor to your own

cables:1

While holding down the two buttons on the adaptor, insert the wire ends of your own cable into the adaptor.

Separately purchased

speaker cable

White, Red, Blue, Grey and Purple speaker cable adaptors are provided as accessories. Use these to attach your own cables for the front left/right speakers, surround left/right speakers and subwoofer.

Use the supplied Y- cable for center speakers connections.

Confirm the +/– polarities of the two wires and the corresponding markings on the adaptor, and be sure to insert the proper wire core into the proper side.

After inserting the wire cores, pull gently on the cable to confirm that the wires do not slip out.

Be careful to prevent the cores of the two wires from touching each other, since a short circuit will result.

Note

1 Speaker cables can be of sizes between 0.3 sq and 1.0 sq (equivalent to 22 gauge and 17 gauge, respectively).
