You can assign one important number/function to each softkey, the navigation key (every direction) and the number keys 2 to 9 (speed- dial numbers).

If you assign a contact, the contact application is opened for selection.

If no function is assigned, you can set a function if you

Start function/call number
The function is started or the number is dialled at the touch of a button.
