First,though,you shouldmake somepreparations.Youmay alreadyhave
decidedon theprinter’s newlocation.Whetheryou haveor have not, run

Environmentalcontrol
The printer and toner cartridgeshould never be exposed to strong
sunshineorotherdirectheatsources.Itshouldalsobe locatedawayfmm
air conditioningducts,dust and fumes.Excessive moistureshould be
avoided,such as humidityin excess of 80%or less than 20%. If it is
comfortableforyou,then it willbe comfortablefor yourprinter.
Alarge,strongtable orstand
Theprinterweighsapprox.22.51bs(lOkg)andmustbe firmlysupported.
Also,the printer will needmore room than it takes up in the shipping
cation,becausethepapertraywillextendforwardfmm thefront; soplan
foraspace atleast 2 x 3.2 ft (0.6m?.
Athree-prongedoutlet
Theoutlet shouldbe no more than 8feet (2.5m)fromthe printer (the
lengthof the powercord),preferablyone shieldedfrom ~wer fluctua-
tions.In anycase,no motor-drivenapplianceshouldbeconnectedtothe
sameoutlet,to avoidinterface withthe printer’soperations.

Apackageof 16-201b(60-135@n~photocopierpaperis best to start
with;however,theprintercanusethickerpaper,aswell asspecialmedia,
suchas envelopesand transparentsheets.
