First, addthefollowingcommandstotheAUTOEXEC.BATfile,depending
onparallelor serial interfaceused.
Parallel:If yourprinteris connectedtothe computer’sparallelportLPT1,
addthe followingcommandto the AUTOEXEC.BATfile:
MODELPT1:,,P
Serial:Ifyourprinteris connectedtothecomputer’sserialportCOM1,add
thefollowingcommandto the AUTOEXEC.BATfile:
MODECOM1:9600,N8,1,P
MODELPT1:=COM1

IftheLotus 1-2-3hasnot beeninstalled,youmustinstallitbeforeprocee-
ding.AttheDOS prompt,typeLOTUSand press[RETURN]. Thiscauses
thecomputerto displaythe 1-2-3Access System.
Movethe cursorto “Install”,then pms [RETURN]to run theINSTALL
program.Lotusmayask youto insertthe UTILITYdisk.Thiswill display
theMAIN MENU. You can selectyour printerfollowingthe procedure
below.
1)Select “Change Selected Equipment”and press [RETURN], which
displaystheSelectedEquipmentscreen.
2)Select “TestPrinter(s)”andpress [RETURN], whichdisplaystheText
Printer(s)screen.
3)Select “HP” and press [RETURN]. This displaysthe Text Printer(s)
screen.
4)Select “2686LaserJetor LaserJet+”andpress [RETURN].
Theprinter typefor textshas been selected.To selectthe printertype for
graphics,goback tothe SelectedEquipmentscreen.
