Battery Pack

The battery pack is the internal power source for the computer. It is rechargeable using the AC or car adapter.

The operating time of a fully charged battery pack depends on how you are using the computer. When your applications often access peripherals, you will experience a shorter operating time.

CAUTION: Use only the battery pack indicated in this manual. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. They may explode. Check with local codes for possible special disposal instructions.

NOTE: Located on the bottom-side of the Tablet PC is the CCD USB port that contains a switch for turning off power coming from the internal primary battery. (Refer to “Bottom-side Components” on chapter 1 for the actual location.)

CAUTION: Care and maintenance information for the battery is provided in Chapter 7. In addition to this chapter, be sure to read the “Battery Pack Guidelines” section in Chapter 7 as well.

Charging the Battery Pack

This computer is allowed to work in high temperature environment. Please recharge battery to the level of 90% or less in high temperature environments to prevent the degradation of the battery. Recommend recharge the battery pack in an environment temperature in range of 10°C to 30°C (60°F to 90°F).

The recharging time varies based on the usage conditions. Recharging takes longer than usual when temperature is below 10°C. And the lower the temperature is, the shorter the operating (discharging) time is.

CAUTION: Do not recharge the battery pack when internal battery temperature is outside the range of 0°C to 45°C.

NOTES:

Recommend always charge the battery pack with the computer powered off. Do not charge the battery repeatedly before it is discharged completely. Recharge the battery pack when the remaining battery capacity is less than 95% to avoid overcharging.
