Function Keys

The Function keys are located on the left side of the Control Panel and enable the following frequently

 

used functions and settings by pressing the desired key.

Function Keys

Keyboard

Used to enter alphabetic char- acters when setting the speed dials, etc. (See page 4-3.)

One Touch keys (1-75)

Used to select telephone/fac- simile number by simply press- ing these keys.

CHAIN DIAL COMM

Used to dial a remote party us- ing Chain Dialing.

CHARGE CODE

Allows entry of a Charge Code at the time of dialing or during Abbreviated Dial and One Touch Dial programming.

DELAYED COMM

Schedules a delayed communi- cation job to be performed at a designated time.

(see page 3-3.)

DIRECT TX

Allows transmission direct from the document glass or the docu- ment feeder without the use of

memory. (see page 2-25.)

LOW SPEED TX

Used to select a lower transmis- sion speed to transmit a docu- ment when poor line conditions are expected, such as when transmitting to a foreign coun- try that can only accept low

speed data. (see page 3-6.)

ITU MAILBOX

Used for Mailbox Communica- tions or Relay, Transmission with remote facsimiles that support the ITU-T F-code functions.

COVER SHEET

Used to attach a cover sheet to a document to be transmitted.

PRIORITY TX

Sends pages set on the docu- ment glass or in the document feeder ahead of all previously scheduled transmissions.

MULTI

Used to create a manual group- ing for multi-address transmis-

sion. (see page 3-7.)

RECOVERY TX

Recovers from memory and sends incomplete transmis-

sions. (see page 4-32.)

SEND AFTER SCAN

Used to select whether the di- aling starts while the machine is scanning the documents or after the machine has scanned all documents to memory.

POLLING

Designate polling communica-

SUB ADDRESS COMM

Add sub-address digits to the remote facsimile number for routing or security.
