Adjust alignment

In the bi-directional print mode (see page 49 for setting the function {function 68}), the printhead operates in both directions. It is particularly difficult for the printhead to print vertical lines in this mode. If vertical lines are therefore not completely straight, you can adjust the alignment of the printhead as follows:

Open the TF 461 as if you wanted to replace the printer cardridge. Ensure that the inside of the machine is well lit (use a torch).

To start the menu

Page through the menu...

...until you reach the desired menu item

Please wait until the page has been drawn into the machine and the initial printing process has been completed (this will take some time)...

Now look at the section which has just been printed in your TF 461. A number of vertical lines has been printed. If you can see that the lines are not perfectly straight, you can adjust the machine using the following buttons:

*- Button = Left correction

# - Button = Right correction

A test printout is made after every adjustment. Check the new result, and repeat the correction if necessary.

When the printed lines are perfectly straight:

Press STOP to return to the standby mode
