Shipping the Machine

When shipping the machine once it is in use, please follow the re-packaging procedure below:

1Remove the image drum unit with toner cartridge from the machine.

2Place the image drum unit with toner car- tridge still attached into a polyethylene plastic bag (black) and store it in a cool place away from direct sunlight.

3Re-package the machine with the image drum unit removed.

Warning: Do NOT ship the machine with the image drum unit installed unless it has never been used.

Reading Your Print Counters

Your machine’s print counters count the number of pages your machine has printed or scanned in its lifetime. If you are experiencing a problem, a service person may ask you to check these counters.

Tip: If your machine’s image drum unit has reached the end of its life, you will also use this function to reset the drum counter. Refer to Replac- ing the Image Drum Unit in this chapter for more information.

1Press the SELECT FUNCTION key.

2Press the 7/COUNTER DISPLAY One- Touch key. The display shows your print unit counter.

3Press NO . The display shows the scanning unit counter.

4Press the SELECT FUNCTION key to finish.
