4.Starting Your Dishwasher
After you’ve prepared your dishes,
loaded your dishwasher, and added dishwashing detergent and rinse aid, you may start your dishwasher.
To start your dishwasher, you need to know how to:
A.Select the Proper Wash Cycle
B.Operate the Controls
A. Select the Proper Wash Cycle Dishwashing needs will vary from
household to household. Here are some general guidelines that will help you select the proper wash cycle for the best cleaning. Remember, not every model of Siemens dishwasher will have every available wash cycle, so you should look to the Model Features Chart on page 6 in this manual to find out which cycles your model has.

B. Operate the Controls
Though there are many models of Siemens dishwashers, there are only two basic types, based on the location of the control buttons:
1)Front Control, with buttons on the front of the dishwasher door, as shown in Figure 22, and
2)Top Control, with the buttons on the top edge of the dishwasher door, as shown in Figure 23.
Front Control
1.Close the dishwasher door and make sure it is securely shut.
2.Press the On/Off button.
3.Press the button for the wash cycle desired.
4.The dishwasher will start and automatically continue operating until the end of the selected cycle.
