Check/Clean the Large Object Trap
Your Siemens dishwasher has a filter system made up of a Large Object Trap/ Cylinder Filter Assembly, as shown in Figure 41, and a Fine Filter on the floor of the dishwasher tub, as shown in Figure 42. Some models have an additional Micro Filter under the Fine Filter, as shown in Figure 43. Check with the Model Features Chart on page 6 of this manual to see if your model has the additional Micro Filter. During normal use the filter system is
The Large Object Trap prevents large objects such as bones, glass, toothpicks and straws from entering the pump system and causing damage or noise. Frequently inspect the Large Object Trap and clean the filter system whenever you find foreign objects.
To Remove the Large Object Trap:
IGrasp the ring handle, as shown in Figure 40. Turn the ring handle
WARNING: DO NOT REACH INTO THE LARGE OBJECT TRAP, AS IT MAY CONTAIN SHARP OBJECTS.

To Reinstall the Large Object Trap:
1.If you have removed the other filter system components, return them to their places, Micro Filter first (if your model has it), Fine Filter second, and the Large Object Trap/Cylinder Filter Assembly last.
2.Firmly press the Large Object Trap/Fine Filter Assembly into position.
3.Turn the ring handle clockwise 1/4 turn until it is locked. The arrow on the ring
