Traveling with the computer

Preparing the computer
Prepa re the c omputer as if you were taking it home. Make sure tha t
the battery in the computer is charged. Airport security may require
you to turn on your c omputer when bringing it into the ga te area.
What to bring with you
Bring the following ite ms with you:
•AC adapter
•Spare, fully-charged battery pack(s)
•Ad ditiona l printer drive r files if you p la n to use a nother printer
•EasyLink module
Special considerations
In a ddition to the guidelines for ta king the c omp ute r home, follow
these guidelines to protect your computer while traveling:
•Alwa ys ta ke the c omputer a s c a rry-on lugga ge.
•If possible, have the c omputer inspec ted by hand. Airport sec urity
X-ray machines are safe, but do not put the computer through a
me ta l detec tor.
•Avoid exposing floppy disks to ha nd-held metal detec tors.
