Note: If you c annot power off the c omputer normally, press and
hold the power switc h for more tha n four sec onds to shut down
the computer. If you turn off the c omputer a nd wa nt to turn it on
again, wait at least two seconds before powering up.

Taking care of your computer

Your c omputer will serve you well if you take c are of it.
Do not expose the c omputer to direc t sunlight. Do not plac e it
near sourc es of hea t, suc h as a radiator.
Do not expose the computer to temperatures below 0ºC (32ºF) or
above 50ºC (122ºF).
Do not subject the computer to magnetic fields.
Do not expose the computer to rain or moisture.
Do not spill wa te r or a ny liquid on the c ompute r.
Do not subjec t the c omputer to heavy shoc k and vibration.
Do not expose the computer to dust and dirt.
Never plac e obje c ts on top of the compute r to a void da ma ging the
computer.
Do not slam the computer display when you close it.
Never place the computer on uneven surfaces.

Taking care of your AC adapter

Here are some wa ys to take c are of your AC a dapter:
Do not c onne c t the a da pte r to a ny othe r devic e .
Do not step on the power c ord or plac e heavy objec ts on top of it.
C arefully route the power cord and any c ables away from personal
tra ffic .
When unplugging the power cord, do not pull on the cord itself
but pull on the p lug.
The tota l a mpere ra tings of the e quipme nt plugge d in should not
exc eed the ampere rating of the c ord if you are using an extension
cord. Also, the total current rating of all equipment plugged into
a single wall outlet should not exceed the fuse rating.
