Installing on NetWare

This section describes how to install Adaptec Storage Manager on

comput e rs running NetWare. See System Requir ements on page 18 for a

list of supported operating systems.

Before You Begin

You need the latest Support Pack for your operating system so you can

run the supported Java Virtual Machine (JVM). You need JVM version

1.3 or later. To check your JVM version, load JVM, type JAVA -VERSION .

Installing Adaptec Storage Manager

1Insert the Adapt ec Storage Manager CD.

2From the command prompt, type load cdrom and press Enter.

3From the command prompt, type:

xx_yy_zz:\netware\manager\install

where xx is the product CD, yy is the version number, and zz is the

release number. For example:

adptcd_v2_01

The installation program starts.

4Fo llow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

5Repeat these steps to install Adaptec Storage Manager on every

NetWare computer that will be part of your storage space.

6Continue with Starting Adaptec Storage Manager on NetWare on

page 32.
