Security SettingsHard Disk Security
This feature enables the users to set, reset or disable passwords for each hard drive in Setup without
rebooting. If the user enables password support, a power cycle must occur for the hard drive to lock using
the new password. Both user and master password can be set independently however the drive will only lock
if a user password is installed.
Feature Options Description
Supervisor Password Installed
Not Installed Reports if there is a supervisor password set.
User Password Installed
Not Installed Reports if there is a user password set.
Change Supervisor
Password enter password Specifies the supervisor password.
User Access Level No Access

Full Access
Sets BIOS setup utility access rights for user level.
Change User Password enter password Specifies the user password.
Password Check Setup

Setup: Check password while invoking setup.
Always: Check password also on each boot.
Boot Sector Virus
Protection Disabled
Enabled
Select Enabled to enable boot sector protection.
The BIOS displays a warning when any program (or
virus) issues a Disk Format command or attempts to
write to the boot sector of the hard disk drive.
If enabled, the following appears when a write is
attempted to the boot sector. You may have to type N
several times to prevent the boot sector write.

The following appears after any attempt to format any
cylinder, head or sector of any hard disk drive via the
BIOS INT13 hard disk drive service:

Protection Disabled
Enabled
Only visible if a supervisor password is installed. If
enabled the BIOS update and modification utilities
will ask for the supervisor password before allowing
any write accesses to the BIOS flash ROM chip.
