Hard Drive Issues
Note: The following information is for
•Drives to be used in booting

•Always make sure to use the OS that came with the machine if you need to reinstall software
(ask the customer for the discs if necessary), and the diagnostics specifically designated for that hardware.
System hangs during normal startup process.
1.Make sure all software updates have been applied to the computer. Refer to KBase article 303903,
2.Boot from the system CD that came with the computer. Use Disk Utility to verify the hard drive.
3.Using Disk Utility, reformat the hard drive.
4.Check all cable connections to and from the hard drive.
5.Replace the hard drive data cable.
6.Replace the hard drive.
7.Replace the logic board.
Fails Apple Hardware Test for HD Temp Sensor, System Noisy
1.Make sure the LCD temp sensor cable is connected to the sensor on the back of the LCD panel.
2.Make sure the LCD temp sensor cable is fully inserted into the connector on the bottom left side of the logic board.
