
Cleaning Inside the Scanner

To determine the number of sheets scanned, use the Trūper User Utility. (See “Trūper User Utility” on page 92.)
The following guidelines are for cleaning inside the scanner:
•If the documents you scan are dirty, the scanner’s parts and components will also become dirty. Be sure the documents you scan are as clean as possible.
•If black or white lines appear on the scanned images, clean the ADF glass areas and the reference plates as described in “Cleaning the Background Color Reference Plates and ADF Glass” on page 81.
•If paper jamming, marking, or double feeding occurs frequently even after cleaning, you may need to change the rollers, as described in “Replacing Consumables” on page 86.
Also observe the warnings for use of the roller cleaning paper shown in “Roller Cleaning Paper” on page 74.

For proper cleaning and maintenance, it is recommended that the following three roller cleaning procedures be performed concurrently.
