5.Place the special shading paper in the feeder tray in the Landscape position, then click OK.

Use only shading paper that is in good condition. Do not use shading paper that is dirty or damaged because this will cause the image quality to deteriorate.
Use only the shading paper supplied with the scanner. Using other types of paper for shading adjustment will cause the image quality to deteriorate.
6.The scanner reads the shading paper and the shading adjustment sets the reference for the white shading plate. Wait until the “Now Adjusting” message box is cleared from the screen.
7. Turn over both the front and back reference plates to the black side. When finished, click OK.

The shading paper is NOT used for the black reference shading.
