About the 500 Sheet Feeder

This chapter provides all of the information necessary to install, use, and maintain the 500 sheet paper feeder option, including procedures for cleaning the feeder and removing paper jams.
About the 500 Sheet Feeder
The 500 sheet feeder is an optional single tray paper feeder that attaches under the printer, which accommodates either an A4/letter paper tray for standard formats or an A3/ledger paper tray for oversize formats. The tray holds a maximum of 500 sheets of standard weight paper. The printer supplies all of the operating power that is needed by the feeder, and motors and circuit boards inter- nal to the feeder provide the feeder with drive and operational logic.
At the start of a print run the feeder motor switches on and begins to feed a sheet of paper out of a selected tray. Rubber rollers drive the sheet out of the tray, through the feeder, and into the printer. Sensors monitor the progress of the paper as it travels through the feeder.
The 500 sheet feeder can be installed in the following configurations:
•Printer and one 500 sheet feeder
•Printer and two 500 sheet feeders
•Printer and one 500 sheet feeder and high capacity feeder
