Recovering a NetWorker Storage Node
| The storage node allows you to access the volumes on which the backups for |
| all of the network computers reside. If the storage node experiences a disaster, |
| it must be recovered before you can restore application and user data to other |
| computers on the network. |

3 | Before recovering the NetWorker storage node, ensure that the UNIX |
operating system is installed on the computer and that the NetWorker server is functional and available on the network.
If you need to reinstall the UNIX operating system, see “Installing and
Configuring the UNIX Operating System” on page 28.
If you need to recover the NetWorker server, see “Recovering a NetWorker
Additionally, ensure that you have the following:
• Hostname of the NetWorker server.
• Version and patch level of the NetWorker storage node software that was on the computer before the disaster occurred.
• Name of any links to NetWorker directories. An example of a typical link from a NetWorker directory to a user directory is /nsr to /usr/nsr.
How to Recover a NetWorker Storage Node
This section describes how to recover a NetWorker storage node computer back to the original computer or to a different computer.
