Receiving a Call When the Device Is Locked

You can receive and answer calls even when your device is locked. For more information about answering calls, see “Answering and Ending Calls” on page 66.

After you end the call, your device remains locked and the Lock screen is displayed. You need to unlock to use your device.

Adjusting the Volume

By default, your device allows you to set the system volume (notifications and audio/video playback volume) and the phone ring volume separately. If you want to adjust the system volume and ring volume simultaneously, first you will need to enable the Single Volume option in the settings.

To adjust the system and ring volumes separately:

1.Press the Volume Up or Volume Down button on your device.

2.To switch between the System Volume and Ring Volume screens, tap System or Ring at the top of the screen.

3.To adjust the volume level on either screen, drag your finger up or down the volume bars, or press the Volume Up or Volume Down button on your device. You can also:

Tap Silent to mute the volume.

Tap Vibrate to switch the device to Vibrate mode.
