You can use an RS-232 cable to connect the adapter to the PC if you do not want to connect the adapter directly to the PC.

6.Connect one end of the 7-foot, 2-pair, modular phone cord (D4BU) to the jack labeled “Phone” on the PassageWay adapter (Figure 2-3).
