Setting Privacy Options
Note:Pr ivacy options do not apply to the
transmission of locati on information during
emergency 911 calls.
To set your GPS privacy options:
1From the main menu, sele ct GPS > Privacy.
2If your GPS PIN security feature is enabled, enter
your GPS PIN. (See “Setting the GPS P IN
Security Feature” for more information.)
3Select the privacy op tion you want:
• Restricted — No Java or similar software
applications may view the location of your
phone. However, location inform a tio n ma y still
be available to the phone’s owner, fleet
manager, or account administrator.
• Unrestricted — All applicati ons may view the
location of your phone, without notifying you.
• By Permission — When an application
attempts to view the location o f your phone,
you will be prompted to give permission.
However, location information may still be
available to the ph one’s owner, fleet manage r,
or account administrator.
Setting the GPS PIN Security FeatureTo prevent your GPS privacy settings from being
altered without your knowledge, y our GPS privacy
option can be protected by a PIN.
When you receive your phone, the GPS security
feature is turned off, so you do not have to enter a
GPS PIN to access your GPS pr ivacy op ti on s. I f you
turn this feature on, yo u will be required to en ter a
GPS PIN to access y our GPS privacy op tions.
To turn the GPS En abled security featu re on or off:
1From the main menu, select Settings > Security
> GPS PIN.
2Select On or Off.
3Enter the current GPS PIN.
Note:Wh en you receive your p hone, your GPS
PIN is 0000.
4Press A under Ok.
To change your GPS PIN:
1From the main menu, select Settings > Security
> Change Password > GPS PIN.
2Enter the current GPS PIN.
Note:Wh en you receive your p hone, your GPS
PIN is 0000.
3Press A under Ok.
4Enter the new 4- to 8-digit GPS PIN.
5Press A under Ok.
6Enter the new 4- to 8-dig it GPS PIN to confirm.
7Press A under Ok.
