Safety and General Information
Electro Magnetic Interference/Compatibility
Note:Nearly every electronic device is
susceptible to electr omagnetic
interference (EMI) if inadequately
shielded, designed or otherwi se
configured for electromagnetic
compatibility.

Facilities

To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or
compatibility conflicts, turn off your radio product in
any facility where poste d not i ce s in struct you to do
so. Hospitals or health ca re fac ilities may be using
equipment that is sensitiv e to ex ternal RF energy.

Aircraft

When instructed to do so, turn off your r adio product
when on board an aircraft. An y us e of a r ad io pr od uct
must be in accordance with ap pl ic ab le re gu la tio ns
per airline crew instructions.
Medical Devices

Pacemakers

The Advanced Medic al Technology Asso ciation
(AdvaMed) recommends that a minimum separation
of 6 inches (15 cm) be maintained between a
handheld wireless radio product and a pacemaker.
These recommendation s are consistent with those of
the U.S. Food and Drug Administra tion.
Persons with pacemakers should:
ALWAYS keep the radio product more than 6
inches (15 cm) from their pacemaker whe n the
radio product is tur ned ON.
Not carry the radio product in a breast pocket.
Use the ear oppos ite the pacemake r to minimize
the potential for interference.
Turn the radio product O FF immediately if y ou
have any reason to suspect tha t interference is
taking place.

Hearing Aids

Some digital wireless ra di o pro ducts may interfere
with some hearing aids. In the event of such
interference, you may wa nt to consult your hearing
aid manufacturer to discu ss alternatives.
