Getting Started
The screen shown above is th e idle screen. The idle
screen appears whe n your phone is on, but not
engaged in any acti vity.
Text Area
This area displays m enus, messages, n ames,
phone numbers, and other info r ma t i on .
Display Options
Two display option s appear at the bott om of most
screens. You select a displa y opti on by pr essi ng the
option key below i t.
Menus and Lists
Your phone’s features are arranged in menus,
submenus, and lists.
To access the items in a menu or list, scroll usi ng
the navigation key at the top of your keypad. This
key lets you scroll up, do wn, left, or right. Holding
down the appropriate part of the navigation key
speeds up scrolling.
In this guide, this symbol > tell s you to select a menu
or list item. For example, Settings> Secu rity
means:
1Scroll to Settings on the ma in menu.
2Press O to see the Settings screen.
3Scroll to Security.
4Press O to see the Security screen.
Quick Access to Main Menu Items
Each arrow in the navigation key and O can be
used to access a main me nu item from the idle
screen. Each of these keys is assigned to a main
menu item when your r e ceiv e yo ur phon e. T o ass ig n
different main menu items, see “Person alize
Features” on page 139.
OK Key
Pressing O:
Selects the highlighted men u ite m or list ite m
Sets options
Confirms actions
Places and answer calls
From the idle screen , accesses ring tones li st.
This is the default setting. You can assign a
different main menu item to O.
Menu Key
Many features provid e context-sensitive menus that
let you access related features and actions. The S
icon appears any tim e a context-sensitiv e menu is
available. Press m to access th e menu.
