Using Settings
•Power Up — sets the main menu item you see
when you power on your phone.
Volume Features
The volume menu sets the volume of sounds your
phone makes:
•Line 1 — sets ringer volume for phone line1.
• Messages — sets the volume of message
notifications and Datebook reminders.
• Earpiece — sets the volume of sound comi ng out
of the earpiece.
• Speaker — sets the vol ume of sound coming out
of the speaker.
•Keypad — sets the volume of sound associated
with pressing keys and buttons.
Java Earpiece — sets the volume of sound
associated with Java applications coming out of
the earpiece.
Java Speaker —sets the volume of sound
associated with Java applications coming out of
the speakers.
Security Features
The Security menu lets you t urn s ec urit y fe atur e s on
and off and change passwords:
Phone Lock — turns on a feature that locks your
phone: Lock Now takes effect immediately; Auto
Lock takes effect when your phon e is powered off
and then on. An unlock co de is requ ire d t o e na ble
this feature, to unl oc k t he ph one, a nd to set a n ew
unlock code. Contact Boost MobileTM Customer
Care for your default unl ock code.
Key pad Lock — locks the phone’s ke ypad, either
immediately or aut omatically after a set period of
inactivity.
•SIM PIN — enables and d isables your phone’s
SIM PIN security feature. See “Turning the PIN
Requirement On and Off” on page 15.
•GPS PIN — enables and d isables your phone’s
GPS PIN security feat ure. See “Setting th e GPS
PIN Security Feature” on page 126.
•Change Passwords — changes your phone
unlock code, security code, SIM PI N, and GPS
PIN.
Advanced Features
The Advanced menuc ontains advanced an d rarely
used Settings features .
•Alert Timeout— sets the amount of tim e a tone
continues to sound when you receive a message
notification, call alert, or Datebook reminder.
