Entering TextYou can enter text, numbers and symbols into your
phone using Alpha, Word, Numeric, or Symbol text
input modes.
When you access a screen that require s you to
enter text, you start in the mode last used .
To choose a text in put mode:
1At a screen that requires you to enter text, press
m.
2Select the text input mode you w ant to use. A
checkmark appear s next to the curren t mode.
Using Word Mode
In Word mode, T9 Text I nput analyzes the letters o n
the keypad button you press and arrang es them to
create words. As you type, T9 Te xt Input matches
your keystrokes to words in its database and
displays the most commonly used matching word.
You can add you own words to this databa se.
Entering a Word
1Select Word as your text input mode.
2Type a word by pressing one key for each let ter.
For example, to type “test” pre ss 8378.
The displayed word may change as you type it.
Do not try to correct the word a s you go. Type to
the end of the word before editi ng.
3If the word that appears is not the desired word,
press 0 to change the word on the disp lay to the
next most likely word in the database.
Repeat until the desired word appears.
If the desired word does not a ppear, you can add it
to the database.
Adding Words to the Database
1Select Alpha as your text input mode.
2Type the word using Alph a mode.
lAlpha — Press a key several times for each
character.
jWord — Press a key once for each letter while
words likely to be the one you want are chosen
from a database.
iSymbols — Enter punctuation and other
symbols.
kNumeric — Enter numbers.
