Installing the Dial-Up Adapter

The following table describes the steps for installing the Dial-Up Adapter.

Windows 95/98/ME

1From the Select Network Adapter window, highlight Dial-Up Adapter in the Network Adapters list.

2Under Manufacturers, highlight Microsoft. Click OK.

3The Select Network Component Type window opens. Highlight Adapter. Click Add.

4The Select Network Adapters window opens.

5To verify that the adapter was added, from Start, select

Settings.

Select Control Panel.

Click Network.

Look for Dial-Up Adapter on the Network Configuration screen.

Windows NT/2000

The Dial-Up Adapter may not have been included in the standard installation. The following steps describe how to check that TCP/IP is in fact installed, and if necessary add the TCP/IP protocol.

NOTE: This may require that you contact your IT Representative or System Administrator.

1Select Start￿ Settings￿Control Panel. The Control Panel window opens. Double click on Network and Dial

Up Connections.

2The Network and Dial Up Connections window opens. Double click on Make New Connection which brings up
