If you are using the front dial to compensate the exposure

If you set [DIAL SET.] (P105) in the [CUSTOM MENU] menu to [ EXPOSURE COMP.], you can compensate the exposure by the front dial. (It is set to [ EXPOSURE COMP.] at the time of purchase.)

1 Press [MENU/SET] to display the menu.

2 Press 3/4/2/1 to select

[DIAL SET.] in the [CUSTOM MENU] menu [ ] and then press 1.

3Press 4 to select [ EXPOSURE

COMP.] and then press [MENU/SET].

4 Press [MENU/SET] to close the menu.

You can also press the shutter button halfway to close the menu.

After performing steps 1 to 4, rotate the front dial to compensate the exposure.

EV is an abbreviation of “Exposure Value”. It refers to the amount of light given to the CCD by the aperture value and the shutter speed.

The set exposure value is memorized even if the camera is turned off.

The compensation range of the exposure will be limited depending on the brightness of the subject.

Rotate the dial slowly but surely.

You cannot compensate the exposure in the following cases.

Taking Pictures with Manual Focus

Use this function when you want to fix the focus or when the distance between the lens and the subject is determined and you do not want to activate auto focus.

1 Set the focus mode lever to [MF].

2 Rotate the focus ring to focus on the subject.

The focus indication lights on the Viewfinder when the focus ring is rotated to focus on the subject. The focus area is fixed to the AF frame on the center of the screen.

3 Take the picture.
