Clinical Considerations
Indications
The HeartStart FR2+ is indicated for use on victims of sudden cardiac arrest exhibiting the following signs:
Unresponsiveness
Absence of normal breathing
The HeartStart FR2+ is intended for use by personnel who have been trained in its operation. The user should be qualified by training in basic life support, advanced life support, or other

assessment module to display the rhythm of a responsive or breathing |

patient, regardless of age. There are no known contraindications to use of |

Contraindications
The HeartStart FR2+ is contraindicated for use (should not be used) on patients who show either of the following signs:
Responsiveness
Presence of normal breathing
Safety Considerations
You should be aware of the safety concerns listed here when you use the HeartStart FR2+. Read them carefully. You will also see some of these messages in other parts of this manual. The messages are labeled Danger, Warning, or Caution.
