INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

ÖPlacing and using the unit for long periods on heat- generating sources such as amplifiers or near spot- lights, etc. will affect product performance. Avoid plac- ing the unit on heat-generating sources.

ÖInstall this unit as far as possible away from tuners and TV sets. A unit installed in close proximity to such equipment may cause noise or degradation of the pic- ture.

ÖNoise may be noticeable when an indoor antenna is used. In such cases, make use of an outdoor antenna or turn off power to the unit.

POWER-CORD CAUTION

Handle the power cord by the plug. Do not pull out the plug by tugging the cord and never touch the power cord when your hands are wet as this could cause a short circuit or electric shock. Do not place the unit, a piece of furniture, etc., on the power cord, or pinch the cord. Never make a knot in the cord or tie it with other cords. The power cords should be routed such that they are not likely to be stepped on. A damaged power cord can cause a fire or give you an electrical shock. Check the power cord once in a while. When you find it damaged, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer for a replacement.

Cleaning the unit

To clean the unit wipe with a polishing or a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, moisten a soft cloth with a weak solu- tion of neutral detergent (diluted in five to six parts wa- ter), wring the cloth well, and wipe away the dirt. Use a dry cloth to wipe the surface dry. Do not use volatile liq- uids such as benzene or thinner which will damage to the unit.

DIRECTIVES D’INSTALLATION

ÖLe fait de placer et de laisser l’appareil pendant de longues périodes de temps sur des appareils constituant une source de chaleur tels des amplificateurs ou près de projecteurs d’éclairage, etc., risque d’altérer les per- formances de l’appareil. Éviter de poser la boîte d’effets sur des appareils constituant une source de chaleur.

ÖInstaller l’appareil le plus loin possible des syntoniseurs et des récepteurs de télévision. En effet, si l’appareil se trouve à proximité, il est alors susceptible de provoquer des parasites voire entrainer une dégradation des ima- ges.

ÖCes parasites risquent d’être plus particulièrement évidents quand une antenne intérieure est utilisée. Dans ce cas, il est indispensable d’utiliser une antenne extérieure ou bien de couper l’alimentation de l’appareil.

NOTE IMPORTANTE SUR LE CABLE D’ALIMENTATION

Tenir le câble d’alimentation par la fiche. Ne pas débrancher la prise en tirant sur le câble et ne pas toucher le câble avec les mains mouillées. Cela risque de provoquer un court-circuit ou un choc électrique. Ne pas poser l’appareil ou un meuble sur le câble. Ne pas pin- cer le câble. Ne pas faire de nœud avec le câble ou l’attacher à d’autres câbles. Les câbles d’alimentation doivent être posés de façon à ne pas être écrasés. Un câble abîmé peut provoquer un risque d’incendie ou un choc électrique. Vérifier le câble d’alimentation de temps en temps. Contacter le service après-vente PIONEER le plus proche ou le revendeur pour un remplacement.

Entretien de l’appareil

L’entretien de l’appareil peut être fait avec du tissu d’entretien souple et sec. Pour les taches les plus tenaces, il suffit d’imprégner un morceau de tissu souple d’une solution diluée à base de détergent neutre (diluée dans cinq ou six parts d’eau), de bien essorer puis d’essuyer pour nettoyer. Se servir d’un morceau de tissu sec et souple pour assécher la surface nettoyée. Ne pas uti- liser les produit volatiles tels de la benzène ou un diluant chimique car ceci endommagerait la finition de l’appareil.
