Shifting the AF Target (Macro)

During macro shooting, the AF target shift function allows you to lock the focus (GP.32) by using the !"#$ buttons on the camera without moving the camera. This is useful for macro shooting on a tripod with focus lock.

Use the !"#$ buttons to shift the cross-mark at the center of the screen to the subject you want the camera to focus on.

When the AF target is shifted to the left with the # button

1 With the camera ready to shoot, press the N (Macro) button.

• The macro symbol appears on the screen.

2 Press the ADJ. button.

3 Press the #$ buttons until the

AF target shift function screen (cross-mark in the middle of the screen) appears.

4 Shift the cross-mark to the subject you want the camera to focus on with the !"#$ buttons.

5 Press the MENU/OK button.

6 Half-press the shutter release button.

• The camera focuses on the area at the position of the cross-mark.

7 Gently press the shutter release button all the way.

 

• The AF target shift function automatically focuses the camera on the

set position until macro mode is cancelled.
