Dialing DirectConnect numbers:
vIf the person you are calling has a separate number for
DirectConnect, make sure you dial any asterisks (*) in the
number. If you are saving the number in your Contacts,
choose DC Onlyfor the phone type.
vIf the person you are calling has a single number for both
voice calls and for DirectConnect, use that 10-digit phone
number to make DirectConnect calls. You do notneed to
add any asterisks (*) to the number. If you are saving this
number in your contacts, choose Mobile + DCfor the
phone type.
To tell if a number is a valid DirectConnectnumber:
©Check the icon for the highlighted number.
If ithas a and icon, itis a valid DC number.

Selecta contact and press . “DC capable” will appear
below the valid DirectConnect number.
Tip Users with a Nextel phone mustalways add asterisks (*)
between digits to dial DirectConnect numbers. If you use a
single number, make sure to tell your contacts with Nextel
phones to dial the 10-digitnumber using asterisks (*) in place
of hyphens (for example, 44*5555*111).
One way to easily ensure thatyour contacthas your correct
number is to call them so thatthey can save your number
from their Call Log. Ask them for their contactinformation.
Remember you will need all digits of the number to make a
successful call. Also, if they have a Nextel phone or a separate
number for DirectConnect, you will need to enter asterisks (*)
between sets of numbers.
