Using Call Alerts

Call Alerts letyou notify someone that you want to

communicate with them using DirectConnect. When a user

receives a Call Alert, pressing the DirectConnect key places a

DirectConnect call directly to the sender.

To send a Call Alert:

1. Enter a DirectConnect number or select a number from

RecentHistory or Contacts.

2. Press Msg/Alert(leftsoftkey) and select Call Alert.

(A promptis displayed.)

nFrom the Call Alertprompt, you may attach a brief

presettext message. Press the navigation key right

or leftfrom the prompt to scroll through available

messages.

Note When sending a Call Alert, make sure you selectthe DC

Number for the person you are trying to reach. Go to the

contactname and use the arrow keys to scroll through that

contact’s numbers until the DirectConnectnumber is

highlighted. (See “To tell if a number is a valid DirectConnect

number”on page 51.)

Note Call Alerts continue to repeatfor a setamount of time

(defaultis five minutes) or until the recipientreturns the call

or ignores the alert. The defaultCall Alert time can be

adjusted in the Settings > Sounds > Alerts > Call Alerts>
