TTY Use With Sprint Service
ATTY(teletypewriter, also known as a TDD or TextTelephone)
is a telecommunications device thatallows people who are
deaf, hard of hearing, or who have speech or language
disabilities, to communicate by telephone.
Your phone is compatible with selectTTY devices. Please check
with the manufacturer of your TTY device to ensure thatit
supports digital wireless transmission. Your phone and TTY
device will connectvia a special cable that plugs into your
phone’s headsetjack. If this cable was not provided with your
TTY device, contactyour TTY device manufacturer to purchase
the connector cable.
When establishing your Sprintservice, please call Sprint
Customer Service via the state Telecommunications Relay
Service (TRS) by firstdialing . Then provide
the state TRS with this number: 866-727-4889.
To turn TTYMode on or off:
1. Press >Settings > More...> Accessibility > TTY.
(An informational message will be displayed.)
2. Read the disclaimer and press OK(left softkey).
3. SelectOn to turn TTY mode on.
or –
SelectOff to turn TTY mode off.
Note In TTY Mode, your phone will displaythe TTY access icon.
If TTY mode is enabled, the audio quality of non-TTY devices
connected to the headsetjack maybe impaired.
