AboutSMARTBridgitsecurity
Server securitySMARTBridgitconferencings oftware compliesw ith SecureSock ets Layer (SSL)3.0 to encrypt data
transmittedusing a TCP c onnection.It uses OpenSSLto generate a self-signedSSL certific ateused
fordata encryption. Each time the server starts, it generates a new 1024-bitSSL certificate and
negotiatesa new 256-bit encryptionkey w ith eachc lient. However, if a client is unable to negotiatea
set of encryptionk eys with the server, no connectionis established.
SMARTBridgitconferencings oftware also uses SecureReal-time TransportP rotocol(SRTP) to
encryptaudio traffic transmitted using a UDP connection. These encryptions preventthird parties
fromintercepting data transmittedbetween client and server.
Thecipher suite negotiatedbetween a Windows operatingsy stem server andclient is an AES256-
SHA ciphersuite, including RSA encryptedk eyexc hange, digest authenticationand 256-bitSSL
dataencryption. SMARTBridgit conferencingsoftware for Mac OS X operatings ystem software also
implements256-bit SSL encryption.
