This lathe is equipped with a brake pedal (see Figure 7) to quickly stop the spindle instead of

allowing it to coast to a stop on its own. Pushing the foot brake while the spindle is ON cuts power to the motor and stops the spindle.

After the foot brake is used, the spindle lever must be returned to the OFF (middle) position to reset the spindle switches before re-starting spindle rotation.
