Protecting Your Battery

The guidelines listed below help you getthe mostout of your battery’s
performance.
vRecently there have been some public reports of wireless phone
batteries overheating, catching fire or exploding. Itappears thatmany,
if notall, of these reports involve counterfeitor inexpensive,
aftermarket-brand batteries with unknown or questionable
manufacturing standards. Sprintis notaware of similar problems with
Sprintphones resulting from the proper use of batteries and accessories
approved by Sprintor the manufacturer of your phone. Use only Sprint-
approved or manufacturer-approved batteries and accessories found at
SprintStores or through your phone’s manufacturer, or call 1-866-343-

Accessories.Buying the rightbatteries and accessories is the bestway
to ensure they’re genuine and safe.
vIn order to avoid damage, charge the battery only in temperatures that
range from 32° F to 113° F (0° C to 45° C).
vDon’tuse the battery charger in directsunlight or in high humidity
areas,such as the bathroom.
vNever dispose of the battery by incineration.
vKeep the metal contacts on top of the battery clean.
vDon’tattemptto disassemble or short-circuit the battery.
vThe battery may need recharging if ithas notbeen used for a long period
of time.
vIt’s bestto replace the battery when itno longer provides acceptable
performance. Itcan be recharged hundreds of times before itneeds
replacing.
vDon’tstore the battery in high temperature areas for long periods of
time. It’s bestto follow these storage rules:
Less than one month:
-4° F to 140° F (-20° C to 60° C)
More than one month:
-4° F to 113° F (-20° C to 45° C)
