Disengage the CHAIN BRAKE® (D) by pulling it backward (Figure 3-5B).
1. Loosen the bar retaining nuts (E) so they are hand tight (Figure 3-5B).
REMARQUE : La tension d’une chaîne neuve doit être contrôlée fréquemment pendant son rodage, après aussi peu que cinq coupes. Les intervalles entre réglages s’espaceront rapidement (Figure 3-5A).
ATTENTION
Si un chaîne est TROP TENDUE ou TROP LACHE, le guide-chaîne et les roulements de vilebrequin s’useront plus rapidement. Etudier la Figure 3-5A pour tout renseignement concernant la tension appropriée pour moteur chaud (A) ou froid (B), et comme guide indiquant quand la chaîne a besoin d’être ajustée (C).
REGLAGE DE LA TENSION DE LA CHAINE :
REMARQUE : S’assurer que le frein de chaîne CHAIN BRAKE® est débloqué. Débloquer CHAIN BRAKE® (D) en le poussant vers l’arrière (Figure 3-5B).
1. Desserrer les écrous (E) du guide-chaîne jusqu’à ce qu’ils puissent être serrés à la main (Figure 3-5B).

PRECAUCION
TO ADJUST SAW CHAIN TENSION:
If a chain is TOO LOOSE or TOO TIGHT, the bar chain and saw bearings will wear more rapidly. Study Figure 3-5A for information concerning correct cold tension (A), correct warm tension (B), and as a guide for when saw chain needs adjustment (C).

NOTE: A new chain and bar will need readjustment after as few as 5 cuts. This is normal during the break- in period, and the interval between future adjustments will lengthen quickly (Figure 3-5A).
