9. Multi-unit Operation

Note:

LTo register the cordless handset to another base unit or to the same base unit again, see (page 59).

9.2.4 Increasing the range of the base unit

You can increase the signal range of the base unit by using a DECT repeater. Please use only Panasonic DECT repeater. See page 9 for accessory information.

Important:

LBefore registering the repeater to this base unit, you must turn the repeater mode ON.

LDo not use more than one repeater at a time.

Note:

LAfter turning repeater mode ON or OFF, w may flash on the cordless handset momentarily. This is normal. The cordless handset can be used once w stops flashing.

9.3 Intercom

Intercom calls can be made between a cordless handset and the base unit, and between 2 cordless handsets. You can page all cordless handsets at once from the base unit.

9.3.1 Making intercom calls

With the cordless handset

1{INT}

2To page the base unit, press {0}.

To page another cordless handset, press the desired cordless handset number.

L The base unit or the destination cordless handset will beep (be paged) for 1 minute.

L To stop paging, press {ih}.

3When the paged party answers, talk into the cordless handset.

4To end the intercom call, press {ih}.

With the base unit

1{INTERCOM}

2To page one cordless handset, press the desired cordless handset number.

To page all cordless handsets, press {0}.

L The destination cordless handset(s) will beep (be paged) for 1 minute.

L To stop paging, press {SP-PHONE}or

{INTERCOM}.

3When the paged party answers, talk into {MIC}.

4To end the intercom call, press {SP-PHONE},

{INTERCOM}.

Cordless handset locator

Using this feature, you can locate a cordless handset if it has been misplaced.

9.3.2 Answering intercom calls

With the cordless handset

When the cordless handset is being paged, it will beep (be paged) and the ringer indicator will flash rapidly. The display will show the paging extension’s number.

1Press {C}, {s} or {INT} to answer the page.

2To end the intercom call, press {ih}.

With the base unit

When the base unit is being paged, it will beep and display the paging extension’s number.

1Press {SP-PHONE}, {INTERCOM} or lift the handset to answer the page.

2To end the intercom call, press {SP-PHONE}, {INTERCOM} or replace the handset.

9.4 Transferring a call/conference

A telephone call can be transferred between a cordless handset and the base unit, and between 2 cordless handsets using the intercom feature.

9.4.1To the base unit or another cordless handset (using the cordless handset)

1Cordless handset:

During a phone call, press {INT}. L The call will be put on hold.

2Cordless handset:

To page the base unit, press {0}.

To page another cordless handset, press the desired cordless handset number.

3Base unit:

Press {SP-PHONE}or lift the handset to answer the page.

Another cordless handset:

Press {C} or {s} to answer the page.

4Cordless handset:

To complete the transfer, press {ih}. To establish a conference call, press {3}.

9.4.2To a cordless handset (using the base unit)
