(+)] to select <FAX SETTINGS> press [OK].

(-)] or [

(+)] to select <RX SETTINGS> press [OK].

(-)] or [

(+)] to select <FAX/TEL OPT. SET> press [OK] twice.

Press [

(-)] or [

(+)] to select the time 0 to 30 seconds that the machine takes to check whether a call is

fax or voice call press [OK] twice.

6 Press [ (-)] or [ (+)] to select the length of time 15 to 300 seconds that the machine rings when the call is a voice call press [OK] twice.

7 Press [ (-)] or [ (+)] to select whether the machine switches to receive mode or disconnects the call if no one answers a voice call after the specified time in step 6 press [OK].

You can select from the following:

-<RECEIVE> to switch to receive mode

-<DISCONNECT> to disconnect the call

8 Press [Stop/Reset] to return to the standby display.

Receiving When an Answering Machine Is Connected: AnsMode

If you want to select <AnsMode>, check the following:

Select This Mode If:

you only have one telephone line for both fax and telephone use.

you want to receive faxes automatically and receive voice messages on your answering machine.

You Will Need to:

set <AnsMode>. (See "Setting the Receive Mode," on p. 5-1.)

connect an answering machine to the machine. (See "Connect telephone cable," in the Set-Up Sheet.)

NOTE

Follow the guidelines below to adjust the answering machine:

-Set the answering machine to answer on the first or second ring.

-The entire message should be no longer than 15 seconds.

-In the message, tell your callers how to send a fax.

When You Receive a Fax Call

The machine will receive the fax automatically.
